Many of those reading this have personally met Don Beard and know him as the first smiling face one sees when they come into the SLAC office. This month, Don has been included in POZ magazine’s 2015 celebration list of 100 Long-Term survivors. (You can find him in the December 2015 issue of POZ. Did you know that not only is Don a knowledgeable, generous, and friendly point of contact, performing free HIV testing for the community, but he also helped found the Southwest Louisiana AIDS Council back in 1987? On top of this, Mr. Beard also does community outreach and education.
Don is an example of positive living and giving back.
